Role Description

This is a contract, on-site Logistics Supervisor role based in Didcot.

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating deliveries, and managing inventory movements across the facility.

The role includes supervising logistics staff, scheduling workloads, and ensuring that materials, equipment, and scientific samples are stored and distributed safely and efficiently.

The supervisor will monitor stock levels, maintain accurate records, optimise warehouse layout, and support compliance with health, safety, and quality procedures.

The role also involves collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers, resolving logistics issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of logistics processes that support Diamond’s scientific operations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in logistics supervision or warehouse management, including coordination of inbound/outbound goods and inventory control.
  • Skills in planning and organising workloads, prioritising tasks, and managing resources in a complex, time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to lead and support a diverse team, including performance monitoring, coaching, and promoting a safe and inclusive working culture.
  • Competence in using logistics or warehouse management systems, Microsoft Office tools, and basic data analysis for reporting and process improvement.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with scientific, technical, procurement, and supplier stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of health and safety, manual handling, and relevant regulations for handling equipment, materials, and specialist items.
  • Relevant qualification or training in logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., in warehousing or supply chain) are an advantage.
  • Experience in a technical, industrial, or scientific environment, or working with high-value or sensitive materials, is beneficial.
