Overview
BAE Systems are looking for an experienced Logistics Planner to join their Manufacturing team and play a key role in supporting complex, innovative and world-leading programmes, including Typhoon.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining the order book, ensuring requirements are accurately reflected and progressed.
- Releasing kits and actively expediting internal and external supply chain shortages to support delivery commitments.
- Obtaining forecasts and working with stakeholders and suppliers to drive improvements across the supply chain.
- Managing assets and tooling, including the control of calibrated equipment.
- Supporting the resolution of problems that could prevent operations from delivering against the workload plan.
- Working collaboratively with manufacturing, supply chain and other functions to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
- Coordinating the shipment and receipt of parts and tooling in line with delivery schedules and relevant export control requirements.
- Supporting the review of key business performance measures and ensuring agreed actions are implemented.
Key Skills
- Experience working within a logistics planning and/or supply chain environment.
- An understanding of logistics processes, procedures and governance.
- Awareness or experience of export control requirements.
- Experience using MRP or ERP systems.
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across different functions.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
