Summary: The Logistics Operations Coordinator will manage logistics activities for a global raw materials trader, coordinating with offices in China and Germany. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics activities with logistics providers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Manage operational and commercial aspects of logistics files.
  • Negotiate freight rates and offer logistics services to other departments and third-party customers.
  • Place shipping bookings and ensure compliance with shipping documentation requirements.
  • Monitor shipments and maintain records of cargo movements.
  • Record shipping parameters in the SAP system.
  • Plan shipments according to commercial parameters.
  • Confirm bookings and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Track shipments and report any issues or bottlenecks.
  • Compile insurance declarations and manage invoicing and accounts receivables/payables.

  • Experience with sea freight.
  • In-depth knowledge of shipping documentation and Incoterms.

Job status: 12-month FTC

Working hours: Monday to Friday 9 - 5 pm

Who You'll Be Working for: Global raw materials trader.

Logistics Operations Coordinator - What You'll be Doing Each Day: Based in the London office, the Logistics Operations Coordinator will be the internal forwarder to the group; in close collaboration with China and Germany offices, you will be coordinating logistics activities with logistics providers, customers and suppliers. In charge of both operational and commercial management of the files to ensure efficient physical movement of goods from point of collection to the agreed delivery place The logistics department is an independent cost centre and the Logistics Operations Coordinator will be required to negotiate freight rates and to offer the logistics services to the other departments and to third party customers Place shipping bookings with the selected providers and ensure that the shipping documentation is issued in accordance with the requirements of the contract Monitor all shipments and keep a record of movements of cargo up to delivery to the agreed destination Receiving booking requests from the various desks or third-party customers Record all shipping parameters into our in-house SAP system Plan the shipments according to the commercial parameters given Place bookings with third party logistics providers (3PL) Receive and check booking confirmations Confirm bookings to customers Ensure BLs are compliant to requirements Track shipments until delivery and report bottlenecks Ensure all final shipping data is recorded in the system before file is closed Report any issues as they arise Compile insurance declarations Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and management of accounts receivables and payables
