Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and maintain a Safety First culture at all times
- Support and contribute to risk assessments within departments
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards, Safe Systems of Work, and current legislation
- Set clear performance goals and targets for team members
- Ensure shifts are fully staffed, trained, briefed, monitored, and motivated
- Manage absence, investigations, and disciplinary matters in partnership with HR, unions, and management
- Recruit, train, and develop team members in line with company values
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance System (QAS) standards
- Ensure dispatched goods meet customer expectations, including code control
- Maintain responsibility for food safety, product integrity, traceability, and product withdrawal procedures
- Control shift costs, including labour, absence, damage, and stock losses
- Drive efficiency and continuous improvement across logistics operations
- Monitor Health & Safety performance, including FLT audit completion
- Manage budget within agreed targets
- Ensure quality of goods dispatched meets QAS and customer standards
- Ensure effective use of labour and equipment in line with safety and cost objectives
- Maintain order fill accuracy, stock control, and loss reduction
- Ensure time window compliance and NM&H reporting and closure
- Manage driver infringements
Key Skills:
- CPC qualified (or willing and motivated to achieve qualification)
- Full car driving licence
- Proven leadership and people management experience
- Previous experience in a transport or logistics operation
- Strong customer service focus
- Computer literate with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with evidence of delivering process improvements

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, is responsible for driving continuous improvement across operational performance, leading change, and developing individuals and shift teams to meet business objectives.
