Logistics Controller

Morson Edge are seeking an experienced Logistics Controller to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Stevenage on an initial 12-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive logistics or supply chain professional with strong SAP experience to play a key role in coordinating manufacturing and supply chain activities, ensuring materials and work packages are delivered efficiently while working closely with engineering, procurement, quality and external suppliers.

Offering a hybrid working arrangement following an initial onboarding period, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys driving operational excellence.

The need of this role is to support Test Equipment Offload across all programmes in Development and Production.

This includes supporting multi-programme demands to ensure we meet the delivery timescales and programme objectives.

This role has responsibility to ensure the offload tasks are placed on time and monitored through the process to meet the programme needs.

The Test Equipment Offload area supports all programmes in managing their offload requirements to a multitude of different suppliers.

You’ll be part of a fast-paced team that keeps a number of projects offload business needs moving efficiently – while engaging with outside suppliers.

Making real time decisions and providing an excellent service.

Responsibilities

  • Release, manage all work in the SAP system, and ensure delivery forecasts are maintained and communicated to customers.
  • Support the achievement of schedule adherence, inventory and delivery KPIs through the execution of the planning process.
  • Maintain records within a Data Management System, Processing Data to ensure a degree of accuracy.
  • Maintaining cross-functional alignment – Acting as a bridge between Engineering Project Managers/ Design, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality & external vendors to keep workflows coordinated and avoid bottlenecks.
  • Work closely with Goods Receiving, stores and dispatch (Logistic Services) to resolve queries, maintain SAP system accuracy and ensure the required paperwork is submitted for stores and dispatch related transactions.
  • Support effective non-conformance management controls.
  • Provide advice and support to stakeholders, detailing best practice.
  • Generating and developing documentation and communications to address frequently asked questions.
  • Contribute to process improvement within the team

Skillset/experience required

  • Experience using SAP
  • Strong planning/ scheduling & coordination experience
  • Experience within Manufacturing, logistics or Supply chain
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work across different functions – Engineering, Manufacturing, procurement, quality, logistics and external suppliers
  • Experience in maintaining accurate data and KPI reporting
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Continuous improvement mindset and experience documenting processes.
  • Quality and Non-conformance Management experience
