Position Purpose

The Transport Desk / Logistics Coordinator will act as a pivotal link between Airbus Operations (including FLSWT and Airtec), Airbus Customs, and our primary approved logistics supplier, DHL Global Forwarding.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating international transport flows, managing essential shipping documentation, ensuring strict compliance with customs regulations, and driving process harmonization across departments for non-flying parts.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Coordination & Flow Optimization

Coordinate the efficient end-to-end flow of international and domestic shipments utilizing approved suppliers (primarily DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Express).

Proactively optimize transport flows to ensure speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness with our approved supplier.

Liaise closely with internal departments (Airtec, Filton Low Speed Windtunnel, Procurement) and external suppliers to resolve transit delays or operational bottlenecks.

Customs Compliance & Documentation

Prepare, review, and manage complete 'document wallets' required for international trade.

Ensure accurate application of essential customs data elements, including:

Commodity Codes / Tariff Classification

Country of Origin (COO)

Weights, Dimensions, and Valuation

Apply general knowledge of Export Control regulations and licensing requirements to ensure complete legal compliance before shipping.

Correctly interpret and apply Incoterms to determine financial and logistical responsibilities.

Act as the primary operational link into the Airbus Customs team.

Systems & Process Integration (SAP)

Utilize SAP systems to generate required documentation, including Delivery Notes (DN) and Customs Invoices.

Collaborate with the Airtec Storeman team to understand, adapt, and harmonize the delivery note creation process for FLSWT and other business units.

Support the ongoing implementation of a harmonized SAP-DN and Customs process specifically tailored for non-flying parts, utilizing data inputs across FLSWT, AirTec, and 1V streams.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

Maintain proactive, clear inter-departmental communication to align expectations between logistics, procurement, and customs.

Monitor supplier performance metrics, focusing on key areas such as DHLGF speed and DHL Express account optimization.

Candidate Profile / Requirements

Experience & Knowledge

Proven experience in a Logistics Coordination, Shipping, or Freight Forwarding role.

Strong understanding of International Trade compliance, export regulations, and standard shipping documentation.

Solid practical knowledge of Incoterms and their operational implications.

Familiarity with Customs requirements:

Tariff classifications / Commodity codes

Country of Origin

Commercial valuation

Basic awareness or understanding of Export Control and licensing is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in SAP (specifically regarding logistics modules, raising Delivery Notes, or generating Customs Invoices).

Strong data literacy and attention to detail when dealing with weights, dimensions, and compliance data.

Excellent IT skills (MS Excel, Word, and general data systems).

Ability to build strong relationships across multiple teams (Stores, Customs, Procurement).

Confident in identifying upcoming bottlenecks (e.g. transit speeds, account alignment) and driving solutions.
