This is an exiting opportunity to take on a consultant post in the Paediatric ENT department in Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, the busiest ENT department in the country. This post represents a significant opportunity to the continued re-shaping of a well-established tertiary paediatric ENT service. With strong institutional support, a renewed focus on collaborative working and a clear commitment to high-quality patient centred care. This post offers the opportunity to join a motivated and supportive team committed to building a strong, cohesive, and forward-looking service. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction, culture and clinical priorities of the service.

The post holder will be expected to make a full contribution to both the secondary care requirements of the organisation as well as the needs of our tertiary level service. This will include both elective and emergency care. It is anticipated that the post holder has a specialist interest in Paediatric Otology.

The post carries 10 Programmed Activities which include 7 fixed clinical sessions.

Flexible sessions, which cover:

  • Audit
  • Administration
  • Teaching
  • Continuing Medical Education
  • Ward Liaison
  • On-call covering the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital & NMGH

The current job plan shows 1.5 SPA time for core CPD, appraisal, mandatory training, audit and clinical governance and teaching. The job plan is subject to review with the appointee within 3 months of appointment in light of the changing needs of the service and the appointee. A commitment is required to address outpatient and in-patient waiting times when required.
