Summary: The University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant in Haematopathology for a fixed-term contract of 4 months. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Haematopathology services, including microscopic reporting and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Contribute to the established Haematopathology subspecialist reporting team.
  • Engage in direct clinical care activities, including the reporting of lymphoma specimens.
  • Collaborate with the Wessex Genomics Laboratory Service.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of a job plan in coordination with clinical leads.
  • Share in cover arrangements for colleagues during absence or annual leave.
  • Participate in educational activities, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Key Skills:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • FRCPath (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Experience in Haematopathology reporting at consultant level.
  • Ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems.
  • Effective teamwork skills in multi-professional settings.
  • Evidence of participation in teaching activities.
