Summary: The Locum CAHMS Consultant Psychiatrist role involves providing clinical leadership and expertise within a new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services clinic in London. The position requires assessing, diagnosing, and managing complex mental health conditions in children and adolescents, balancing direct patient care with remote consultations. This temporary locum contract offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing organization dedicated to improving mental health services for young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualised treatment plans for children and adolescents.
- Provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring high standards of patient care.
- Offer psychiatric interventions, including medication management and therapeutic approaches.
- Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and external professionals to provide holistic patient care.
- Supervise and support junior medical staff and allied health professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
Key Skills:
- Must be a UK-registered doctor on the GMC Specialist Register.
- Ideally possess Approved Clinician (AC) Status.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a consultant (newly qualified consultants will also be considered).
- Right to work in the UK is essential.
- Ability to complete DBS, ID verification, training, and compliance checks as required.
