Summary: The Local Land Charges Information Manager will oversee and enhance the Local Land Charges Service, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations while maximizing service delivery and efficiency. This role involves managing a team, implementing IT solutions, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve service performance. The position is temporary for three months with a likely extension and requires a proactive approach to service promotion and income generation. The working arrangement is hybrid, with IT equipment provided for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Local Land Charges Service in accordance with the Local Land Charges Act 1975 and other relevant legislation.
  • Lead a team of Local Land Charges Officers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality service.
  • Implement IT solutions to facilitate online and self-service options for clients, solicitors, and agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with HM Land Registry standards and manage data transfer requirements.
  • Develop and monitor service improvement initiatives to achieve optimal performance across boroughs.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance service delivery and maintain effective communication.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring effective expenditure and income recovery in line with regulations.
  • Promote the Local Land Charges Service and identify opportunities for income generation through innovative marketing strategies.

Key Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Local Land Charges services and relevant legislation.
  • Proven experience in local government finance, with a focus on income and expenditure management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of implementing service improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
  • Experience in staff management, training, and motivation to drive performance improvements.
  • A degree or relevant professional qualification (desirable).
