Liquidity Risk, Senior Manager 6 Month Contract London, UK Starting asap
We are recruiting for a Senior Manager level Liquidity Risk oversight role to support our client for 6 months minimum.
This role is responsible for the independent oversight of the bank's liquidity risk.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, as well as to adapt to changing market events with a liquidity risk implication.
The candidate will need the ability to organize both qualitative and quantitative information in a meaningful way to develop an effective review and challenge framework in the liquidity risk area.
This position requires the ability to grasp complex concepts coupled with a solid understanding of risk measurement and analytics, quantitative modeling, and risk management techniques as well as product knowledge.
The role involves interactions with teams globally and with senior management, requiring the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
The individual will be expected to undertake unsupervised research on areas of liquidity risk, and will also be responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of current risk management processes and policies for the liquidity risk program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support critical projects with high impact on company results
- Have the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, as well as adapt to changing market events with a liquidity risk implication
- Support senior management and communications with regulators; have experience preparing presentations for executive management and regulators
- Have strong writing abilities and be comfortable drafting and reviewing procedures and policies
- Support and enhance the assessment, monitoring, and reporting of liquidity risks, and compliance with liquidity requirements
- Have a solid understanding of risk management techniques as well as product knowledge including operational deposits, prime services, agency lending, FICC programs, FX derivatives, investment portfolio (HQLA/non-HQLA), fund finance, muni finance, and secured/unsecured borrowing, among others
- Perform and document analyses and processes for the enhancement of the team's overall framework
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Proven experience in a banking organization, with specific experience in Treasury and Liquidity Management within a large bank
- Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or another related field required; M.Sc. preferred
- Knowledge of financial markets and the banking regulatory environment
- Analytical background and good knowledge of quantitative methods applied to finance
- Ability to manage large amounts of data to perform complex quantitative and qualitative analyses
- Excellent understanding of financial instruments and the balance sheet of a global bank
