Summary: The Linux/Unix Engineer - SC Cleared role involves supporting a security-critical production estate with a focus on Linux and Solaris administration. Key Responsibilities:
- Support a security-critical production estate, including legacy Solaris platforms.
- Perform Linux and Solaris administration tasks.
- Conduct performance troubleshooting, patching, and system management.
- Execute OS-level troubleshooting for CPU, memory, disk, and services.
- Manage system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Utilize scripting and automation for operational efficiency.
- Provide production support in live enterprise environments.
- Handle incident, problem, and change execution.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux Administration (RHEL / CentOS or equivalent).
- Deep knowledge of Solaris administration.
- Experience with ZFS and system stability.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (shell, basic tooling).
- Experience in secure, audited, highly regulated infrastructure.
- Ability to support mixed Linux and legacy Unix environments.

Whitehall Resources are looking for a Linux/Unix Engineer - SC Cleared. This role is hybrid working with 3-4 days per week onsite in either Manchester Cumbria, for an initial 3-month contract.

Core Technical Requirement:
