Summary: The role of Linux/Unix Engineer requires an SC cleared individual to support a security-critical production environment, primarily focusing on Linux and Solaris administration. The position is hybrid, with a significant portion of work conducted in the office and the remainder remotely. Candidates must be sole UK nationals and have limited time spent outside the UK in the past five years. The contract is for a minimum of three months with a daily rate of £481 inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a security-critical production estate including Legacy Solaris platforms.
- Perform Linux and Solaris administration tasks.
- Conduct performance troubleshooting, patching, and system management.
- Administer Legacy Solaris systems and ensure system stability.
- Execute incident, problem, and change management in live enterprise environments.
- Manage OS-level troubleshooting and system patching.
- Utilize scripting and automation for system management.
Key Skills:
- Deep Linux and Solaris administration capability.
- Experience with RHEL/CentOS or equivalent.
- Strong experience with Legacy Solaris systems and ZFS.
- Ability to troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, and services at the OS level.
- Experience in secure, audited, and highly regulated infrastructure.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Shell, basic tooling).

Role Description:

Strong hands-on engineers with deep Linux and Solaris administration capability, required to support a security-critical production estate including Legacy Solaris platforms.
