Summary: We are seeking a Red Hat SME who has extensive experience in building, running, and supporting Red Hat environments at scale. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the platform and will assist teams in making informed technical decisions. This role involves collaboration with security and operations teams to ensure compliance and risk management while optimizing system performance. The candidate will also support automation efforts using tools like Ansible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design and deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
- Maintain and optimise system performance across distributed estates
- Oversee patching, updates and configuration management
- Work closely with security and operations teams to align on risk and compliance
- Support automation and orchestration using Ansible and related tooling
- Assist in troubleshooting and system diagnostics
- Help shape documentation, standards and operational processes
Key Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of RHEL environments
- Practical experience with Red Hat tools such as Satellite, Ansible and Podman
- Background in supporting production or business critical Linux systems
- Familiarity with system hardening, patching and general security good practice
- Ability to communicate clearly with engineering and non-engineering colleagues
- Industrial or regulated sector experience (nice to have)
- RHCSA, RHCE or similar certifications (nice to have)
- Exposure to OpenShift or Kubernetes (nice to have)
- Basic knowledge of networking and authentication components (nice to have)
