Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Debian and RedHat-based Linux environments
- Handling Layer 1 and 2 infrastructure support
- Working across DNS, DHCP, VPN, LDAP, networking and virtualisation
- Supporting patching, risk assessment and infrastructure best practice
- Maintaining IaC using Terraform, Puppet or Ansible
- Providing ticket-based support, troubleshooting, maintenance and automation
Key Skills:
- Strong on-premise Linux administration experience
- Solid troubleshooting skills
- Confidence supporting business-critical systems
- Experience with Linux, Debian, Kubernetes, Ansible
- Familiarity with monitoring, containerisation, web servers, load balancers or Python
- Dependable and technically strong with ownership of work

Peaple Talent have partnered with a fast-moving technology business in Bristol entering a key delivery phase, with go-live planned for the next few weeks. They need an experienced Linux Engineer to provide critical out-of-hours infrastructure support across global environments. Night shifts will be shared across the team, unless you prefer consistent nights, and out-of-hours work will be paid at a premium. You’ll support Linux-based systems across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, keeping core infrastructure stable, secure and running smoothly. Expect ticket-based support, troubleshooting, maintenance and automation.
