Summary: The Linux Networking Systems Engineer role is a contract position based in Central London, focusing on advanced Linux or Unix system administration and AWS services. The engineer will provide support for infrastructure issues, oversee system monitoring, manage virtualization, and design network configurations. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to clients by resolving infrastructure issues that affect their ability to monitor system performance.
- Oversee both on-premise and cloud systems, addressing alerts and anomalies.
- Investigate and maintain virtualization infrastructure within VMware and AWS environments.
- Design and implement configurations for networking equipment, including routing, VLANs, and IP Addressing.
- Address technical and system engineering issues using existing SOPs and develop improvements.
- Analyze system architecture and data flows to identify root causes of problems.
- Complete projects on schedule using appropriate technologies and industry best practices.
- Investigate and recommend systems and approaches that meet quality, performance, and sustainability standards.
- Contribute to design, scoping, prioritization, deployment plans, and system changes.
- Evaluate short and long-term trade-offs of decisions and recommend solutions to improve outcomes.
Key Skills:
- Advanced Linux or Unix system administration.
