Summary: The IT Senior Linux Engineer is tasked with managing high availability server infrastructure and operational services, ensuring alignment with service level targets. This role involves collaboration with various IT teams to implement enhancements and maintain compliance with standards. The engineer will provide 2nd and 3rd line support, lead technical initiatives, and drive continuous improvement within the infrastructure. The position requires a strong technical background in Linux systems and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for infrastructure issues.
• Lead technical resolution of service issues.
• Engage with Strategy and Architecture teams for alignment on technical direction.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining IT policies and standards.
• Produce and maintain operations manuals/run books.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Contribute to SW Transition and Transformation Programmes.
• Define and implement IT quality assurance practices.
• Attend and influence technical and operational governance forums.

Key Skills:

• Experience with RHEL 5, 6, 7 & 8.
• Understanding of LVM and SE Linux configuration.
• Experience with Redhat Satellite and patch management.
• Knowledge of Ansible automation and Solaris systems.
• Familiarity with Veritas Volume management and version control systems (GIT/SVN).
• Cloud platform experience (MS Azure or AWS).
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, ESX, ESXi).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
