Summary: The role of Azure Infrastructure / Cloud Migration Architect focuses on leading large-scale migrations from on-premises to Azure, requiring expertise in both Azure and Linux environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on-prem/public cloud infrastructure assessments using Azure Migrate.
- Drive Azure solutioning for large-scale migrations, ensuring coverage across business, application, and infrastructure requirements.
- Own Azure strategy and stakeholder management, including “value for money” considerations (TCO/ROI) and governance.
- Design and deliver Azure Landing Zones based on a clear understanding of the customer infrastructure landscape.
- Produce target architecture deliverables: Azure service architecture diagrams, HLD/LLD, plus BoM / licensing / pricing inputs.
- Execute and support on-prem to Azure migrations and provide deep troubleshooting across Azure + Linux.
- Provide strong Linux platform capability: storage/filesystems/LVM, patching & upgrades, backup/restore, services/daemons, DNS, NFS/SMB, Apache TLS, Postfix, and automation/scripting.
- Lead root-cause analysis and performance tuning while guiding other engineers and resolving complex incidents.
