Summary: The Linux Administrator role involves supporting and optimizing enterprise-grade Linux infrastructure within a large-scale project environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for high-end GPU workstations in an enterprise environment
  • Install, configure and maintain enterprise software solutions on Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms
  • Troubleshoot complex Linux system issues using structured diagnostic approaches
  • Support and contribute to large-scale projects through close collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Conduct performance testing on HPC platforms using custom scripts and tools
  • Analyse performance and utilisation data to produce actionable insights
  • Prepare detailed technical reports covering system performance, resource usage and key metrics
  • Present findings and updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Lead or support technical meetings to ensure project alignment and delivery
  • Ensure systems meet security, compatibility and operational standards

Key Skills:

  • Proven hands-on experience as a Linux Administrator or Systems Engineer
  • Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 system administration
  • Proficiency in Shell Scripting and automation
  • Experience supporting high-end GPU Workstation environments
  • Solid knowledge of Linux troubleshooting and performance tuning
  • Experience working with HPC platforms, including performance testing

Linux Administrator

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires experienced Linux Administrator to be based at their client's office in Stevenage.

This is a hybrid role - you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Stevenage office 3 days per week.

This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap

Day rate: Competitive Market rate

This role plays a critical part in supporting and optimising enterprise-grade Linux infrastructure within a large-scale project environment. You will work on advanced RHEL 9 systems, high-end GPU workstations and HPC platforms, contributing to system stability, performance and innovation. The role provides hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technology, performance testing and automation, while collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
