Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out lifting machinery safety inspections under PUWER 1998 (L22 ACoP)
- Assess equipment compliance – including maintenance, inspection, training, and alignment with UKCA/EC directives
- Inspect equipment such as Escalators, Lifts (Passenger & Goods), Elevated Mobile Work platforms, overhead Gantry Cranes, Travelators, Forklifts, and more
- Identify hazards during PUWER inspections and recommend appropriate control measures
- Write clear, action-focused reports with technical detail
- Support the quality and consistency of Machinery Safety services
- Provide clients with innovative, effective safety solutions
Key Skills:
- NEBOSH General certificate, HNC, HND in Mechanical Engineering
- A recognised Machinery Safety/PUWER inspection qualification beneficial
- Membership with IOSH or another relevant body
- Working knowledge of Machinery Risk Assessments for various equipment
- Experienced in writing technical reports (PUWER, LOLER)
- Confident with Microsoft Office and mobile tech for reporting
- Hold a full UK driving licence & have use of your own car

Lifting Equipment Inspections Engineer - covering projects across the South of the UK £400 per day (outside IR35) + paid mileage + paid overnight accommodation (as required) + varied & interesting long-term contract work
We are looking to engage with an experienced Lifting Equipment Inspections Engineer on an ongoing contract basis to assist a variety of clients in managing their risks associated with large industrial machinery, mobile plant, lifting & access equipment etc. Initially work is likely to be up to 3 days a week and increasing, so this contract role would suit an individual who has other clients and wishes to add a global organisation to their portfolio
