Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce lift plans, RAMS, and lifting strategies for all operations
  • Plan and manage complex lifts, including heavy and restricted-area lifts
  • Ensure compliance with LOLER, BS 7121, PUWER, and site requirements
  • Act as Lifting Supervisor when required, overseeing day-to-day operations
  • Brief lifting teams and ensure works are carried out to approved plans
  • Coordinate crane operations, slingers, and lifting teams on site
  • Check all lifting equipment, plant, and accessories are certified and fit for use
  • Carry out site assessments, including crane positioning, ground conditions, and exclusion zones
  • Maintain safe systems of work and control of lifting areas at all times
  • Report incidents, near misses, and ensure records are kept up to date

About the Role

We are delivering a major rail infrastructure project in West London and are looking for an experienced Lifting Appointed Person (AP) to take ownership of all lifting operations on site. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment, responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing lifting activities to ensure they are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
