Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing tickets for compliance support raised by lawyers and operations staff.
- Understanding and applying defined processes to deliver on key requests.
- Working with colleagues across operations teams to support day-to-day business functioning.
- Providing compliance and risk advice on various matters including conflicts of interest, confidentiality, cyber risk, AML-related checks, onboarding, and KYC work.
- Identifying significant trends in compliance risks and flagging them to the business.
Key Skills:
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a Compliance Team at a law firm in the UK.

Risk & Compliance at Lawhive
We are both one of Europe’s fastest-growth tech start-ups and an ABS with multiple regulated law firms within our network that provide legal services to customers to help improve access to justice. As a result we have to support our extensive (and ever-growing) network of consultant lawyers spread all over the UK with their compliance needs and ensure that Lawhive’s clients receive the highest quality of legal advice. In order to do this we need a market-leading and future-proof risk and compliance function capable of managing multiple competing priorities daily, providing robust strategic advice to the business and ensuring that all our regulatory requirements are met through our novel and tech-native approach to providing legal services. We have a small, high-performing team currently at Lawhive and are looking to scale our team and their output to further enable and fast-track our growth.
The Role
Our Compliance Associates are responsible for ensuring that our business runs seamlessly day-to-day and can continue to grow rapidly by ensuring that we remain fully-compliant with all of our regulatory obligations in any jurisdictions we operate within. Our Compliance Team also supports the wider network of clients, lawyers and operations staff with assistance across all areas of our services from onboarding to client advice and the conclusion of cases and billing.
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Reviewing tickets for compliance support raised by lawyers and operations staff
- Understanding and applying our defined processes to deliver on key requests
- Working with colleagues across our operations teams to support on the day-to-day functioning of the business
- Providing compliance and risk advice on matters including, but not limited to: Conflicts of interest, Confidentiality points, Cyber risk, AML-related checks, Onboarding and KYC work, Sanctions
- Identifying any significant trends in compliance risks and flagging them to the business
