Summary: The Senior Legal Officer role involves supervising the Claims and Litigation team within a large public sector organization in Warrington. Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of 4 Claims and Litigation Officers handling over 2,000 claims annually.
• Provide expert advice across the company on all claims and litigation-related matters.
• Support and deputise for the Head of Claims and Debt Recovery.
• Conduct and complete all stages of legal proceedings including preparation of pleadings and trial preparation.
• Compile estimates for Project Managers assessing financial and public relations implications.
• Provide statistical reports and undertake day-to-day team management duties as delegated.

Key Skills:

• CILEX qualification as a “Fellow” or equivalent qualification, or significant experience in lieu of qualification.
• Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute or a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
• Minimum three years post-qualification experience in claims and debt protocols.
• Proficient in handling general Civil Litigation.
• Good knowledge of water and sewerage law and the legal framework within the business.
• Proficiency in computer applications with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
