Summary: An IT Director is sought for a law firm in Dorset to provide strategic direction, manage IT projects including a PMS implementation, and develop an IT strategy. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction for the IT department.
- Create an IT plan and budget.
- Manage and deliver IT projects, including a PMS implementation.
- Develop an IT strategy encompassing desktop, application enhancement, and cyber security.
- Manage, motivate, and mentor the in-house IT team.
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure first-class customer service.

An exciting opportunity for an IT Director with previous experience working in a law firm as essential, to join a law firm in Dorset to provide the firm with strategic direction, creating an IT plan and budget and managing and delivering their projects including a PMS implementation. This is initially a 6 month fixed term contract. You will work closely with the business to understand the needs and then develop a suitable IT strategy encompassing the desktop, application enhancement and cyber security. You will manage, motivate and mentor the small in-house team and work with third party suppliers so excellent communication skills are paramount.
This is an opportunity to make a positive impact by developing the IT provision. To apply you must have experience working as Head of IT or IT Director within a law firm allowing you to understand legal practices and legal systems and be a strong man manager. You will need proven experience of budgets, expenditure, strategy, delivering multi-strand projects and have a thorough understanding of delivering first class customer service. Excellent organisation and communication skills will allow you to engage and work with internal and external stakeholders. Technically you will need good skills in Microsoft 365, Windows, Mimecast, a legal practice management system, Cyber Essentials and ITIL allowing you to lead the team from the front.
This role is working 4 days in the office so you must to be able to commute to the Dorset area or be prepared to relocate for the duration of the contract.
