Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and negotiating commercial property matters, including leases and agreements for lease.
- Acting for developers and investors on commercial properties.
- Conducting due diligence for leasehold acquisitions/disposals and preparing draft certificates and reports.
- Handling SDLT filings and Land Registry applications.
- Advising on property litigation issues, including boundary disputes and rights of way.
- Instructing external counsel as necessary.
- Collaborating with sales, marketing, and advertising departments within the organization.
Key Skills:
- UK/Scottish qualified solicitor.
- Solid experience in Real Estate/Commercial Property law, ideally in-house.

Real Estate Counsel / In-House Commercial Property Solicitor Immediately Available Hybrid Working Contract and Interim Roles TAP Search has seen an increase in demand for Real Estate Counsel / In-House Commercial Property lawyers, and as such, would like to register immediately available or available at short notice in-house Real Estate Counsel / Commercial Property lawyers for interim and fixed term contract roles. Our clients tend to be FTSE, Fortune 500 and SEKH listed entities, with offices in Central London and the South East of England. Ideally junior to mid-level, you will have experience drafting and negotiating a full range of commercial property matters, including;
- Acting for developers and investors on commercial properties
- Commercial leases and agreements for lease (Granting leases and lease management, Retail and corporate lease agreements)
- Lease renewals for commercial premises, heads of terms, leases, licences, , and freehold transfers
- Transactional landlord and tenant agreements, Letting agreements
- Conducting due diligence for leasehold acquisitions/disposals and tenders, the preparation of draft certificates and reports
- Planning and environmental issues
- Negotiating of certificates of title and general title work
- Handling SDLT filings and Land Registry applications
- Property litigation including Advising on estates management issues such as boundary disputes, rights of way, and compulsory purchase orders
- Instructing external counsel

Candidate requirements
It is essential that the candidate is UK/Scottish qualified Solid experience within Real Estate/ Commercial Property law, ideally in-house Some property litigation experience Keen eye for stakeholder engagement and relationship management You will be an agile (think on your feet and flexible around client priorities), hands-on legal professional with a strong sense of initiative, pro-activity and investigative mind-set.
