Legal Counsel - Maternity Cover

Summary: The role of Legal Counsel at UW involves providing legal support during a maternity cover period of up to 12 months. The successful candidate will work within a busy in-house legal team, advising on a variety of commercial legal matters while engaging with multiple stakeholders. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to manage various legal requests efficiently. The role is hybrid, requiring two days in the London office each week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the business in achieving commercial outcomes across various projects.
• Advise on commercial and technology contracts.
• Contribute to legal resources for products, including terms and conditions and marketing materials.
• Act as an advisor to teams supporting products such as Customer Support and Sales & Marketing.
• Manage and prioritize incoming requests for legal support from multiple channels.
• Engage with stakeholders at different levels, providing legal advice in an accessible format.

Key Skills:

• Qualified solicitor with 0-3 years PQE and some in-house experience.
• Experience advising on commercial contracts and arrangements.
• Exposure to consumer regulations, advertising, and marketing.
• Strong commercial awareness and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency or willingness to learn Legal Tech tools.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Team player with a proactive and pragmatic approach.
