About the Role

As the legal counsel of Safran Seats GB, the candidate will apply all procedures and techniques necessary to effectively review, draft, and negotiate customer and supplier contracts, manage prelitigation and litigation issues.

The candidate also provides general legal advice to SSGB's stakeholders on a variety of legal matters (such as real estate, IP, Employment law, etc.) on a day-to-day basis.

Key responsibilities

  • Draft, amend, review and negotiate customer and supplier contractual and pre-contractual documents and amendments, including without limitation non-disclosure agreements, customer agreements, letters of agreement, memoranda of understanding, settlement agreements, services agreements, licensing agreements, equipment leases, terms and conditions, long-term agreements, and consultant agreements.
  • Coordinate with upper management, supply chain, operations, finance, information technology, intellectual property, marketing/sales, engineering, product support, purchasing, human resources, and quality departments to devise and implement appropriate customer contract strategies.
  • Lead or participate in negotiations face-to-face, online, via video conference, telephone, or email with customers.
  • Validate final signature versions and collect signatures.
  • File and manage hardcopy contractual documents and electronic databases in accordance with corporate procedures.
  • Interpretation of existing contracts.
  • Draft and revise business letters.
  • Perform risk assessment of contract terms and conditions; developing strategies to minimize potential risks to the business.

What You'll Bring

Essential:

English Law degree is required

Experience in in-house legal and contractual experience

Significant experience in working in international global companies and reporting to a foreign-based headquarter.

Must have excellent MS Word® skills.

Must be able to work independently serving both internal and external customers and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must have the ability to draft language clearly and effectively.

Integrity, tenacity and being a team player are essential attributes.

Must demonstrate stress tolerance, maintaining stable performance under pressure or opposition (such as time pressure, job ambiguity and working extended hours); handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization.
