Summary: The role of Data Protection Legal Counsel involves providing legal support and advice on data protection compliance within a prominent tech company's in-house legal team. This full-time, onsite position in London is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for extension, requiring collaboration with various internal stakeholders and data protection authorities. The ideal candidate will have mid-level experience in data protection law and a strong understanding of privacy compliance strategies. The position is urgent, with a preferred start date in April or May.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide critical support in developing and implementing data protection compliance strategies.
- Advise on privacy compliance for Requests for Information (RFIs) and investigations, in collaboration with Disputes and other cross-functional teams.
- Support and collaborate on the company’s strategy with data protection authorities.
- Handle and respond to Data Subject Requests (DSRs) efficiently.
- Work closely with the Global DPO, Security, Disputes, Policy teams, and other internal stakeholders to ensure privacy compliance across the business.
- Conduct assessments related to emerging products, including GenAI-related developments.
- Provide legal support and advice to the Global DPO team.
