Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on energy sector construction and infrastructure disputes, including EPC, FIDIC, and project contracts
  • Managing and coordinating external counsel, experts, and advisors
  • Reviewing and advising on construction and energy contracts in dispute
  • Supporting dispute avoidance strategies, early stage claims assessment, and settlement negotiations
  • Advising project, commercial, and senior management teams on legal risk and strategy
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating ancillary agreements relevant to energy projects under dispute

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years PQE
  • Strong experience in contentious construction and/or energy disputes
  • Comfortable managing disputes with minimal supervision
  • Pragmatic and commercially minded, able to communicate legal advice to non-legal stakeholders

Legal Counsel – Contentious Energy & Construction Solicitor | Initial Three Month FTC | Remote or Hybrid Working Available

We are working on a new opening for a Contentious Construction Solicitor within the Energy sector on a 3 month FTC (which is likely to be extended), with the flexibility to work remotely or on a hybrid basis. The role is ideal for a solicitor with strong experience in energy related construction disputes.

The Role

You will provide legal support on a range of energy and construction projects, focusing on contentious matters. You will handle live disputes, provide risk based advice, and collaborate with internal teams and external advisers to protect and advance the business’s interests.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on energy sector construction and infrastructure disputes, including EPC, FIDIC, and project contracts
  • Managing and coordinating external counsel, experts, and advisors
  • Reviewing and advising on construction and energy contracts in dispute
  • Supporting dispute avoidance strategies, early stage claims assessment, and settlement negotiations
  • Advising project, commercial, and senior management teams on legal risk and strategy

About You

Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years PQE - both private practice and In-House experience will be considered

Strong experience in contentious construction and/or energy disputes

Comfortable managing disputes with minimal supervision

Pragmatic and commercially minded, able to communicate legal advice to non-legal stakeholders
