Summary: The Legal Cashier role at Taylor Rose involves managing Client Account functions within a busy law firm environment. The position requires adherence to Solicitors Accounts Rules while providing high-quality service to internal and external clients. The candidate will support the Finance team and handle various cashiering tasks, ensuring accurate processing of client transactions. This temporary position is expected to last between 3 to 6 months at the Peterborough office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process client receipts and payments accurately and timely.
  • Manage un-cashed cheques and stop those over 6 months old.
  • Conduct client-to-client account transfers and monitor client balances.
  • Respond to client account queries within 24 hours.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of client bank accounts.
  • Ensure accuracy of client account cheques issued within 24 hours.
  • Assist with month-end duties and support the Cashier Manager and Financial Controller.
  • Report any breaches of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks as required.

Key Skills:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel (intermediate/advanced level).
  • Experience in a similar role within a Solicitor’s accounts department.
  • Understanding of accounting systems, banking systems, and case management systems.
  • Full knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels and departments.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
