Summary: The Legal Casework Team Leader at Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing is responsible for managing legal processes related to property access compliance, overseeing a team of Legal Caseworkers, and ensuring adherence to landlord obligations. This role involves attending court, serving legal paperwork, and handling complex housing cases while collaborating with various stakeholders. The position aims to minimize court proceedings by effectively managing access issues and other compliance-related challenges. The role is offered on a fixed-term contract basis for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the legal process for gaining access to properties to fulfill compliance obligations.
  • Oversee and support a team of 2 Legal Caseworkers, ensuring timely and accurate caseload management.
  • Attend court and serve legal paperwork as necessary.
  • Handle complex cases related to hoarding, subletting, and anti-social behavior.
  • Collaborate with front-line staff and compliance teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Work to prevent court proceedings for access issues and manage possession proceedings when necessary.
  • Act as a source of expertise on legal matters within the organization.
