Summary: The role of Legal Assistant involves supporting a team of lawyers in a well-known consumer brand, focusing on business support and acting as a liaison between the Legal Team and the business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first responder to legal queries from the business.
  • Providing primary support to the Legal Team on various matters and routine administration.
  • Maintaining the team's bank of templates and supporting their roll-out and usage.
  • Pro-actively spotting issues and ensuring they are resolved.
  • Assisting with the production and delivery of training to the business.
  • Managing legal projects to ensure they run smoothly and remain on track.
  • Maintaining legal matter and media rights management systems.
  • Managing senior management approvals and signature processes.
  • Creating and managing project trackers, summaries, and other internal documents.
  • Supporting the management of external legal service providers and related budgets and billing.
  • Assisting with drafting simple letters and agreements.

An instantly recognisable consumer brand – a name synonymous with brand promotion through the exploitation of media, entertainment and sport – is looking for a Legal Assistant. Please note that this is a 12month Fixed Term Contract . You’ll be joining a team of five lawyers and one paralegal. Your role is to assist the Legal Team in all aspects of business support and, in particular, act as an interface between Legal and the business. You’ll become familiar with the legal tools, policies and templates and be able to point members of the business in the right direction to resolve their request for legal support. You will provide administrative support across the team, including managing their matter management system, media rights system, managing approval and signature processes and keeping their templates up to date. The successful candidate will need to have a positive “can-do” attitude, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be ready to try their hand at any tasks assigned to them.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first responder to legal queries from the business, engaging further legal support from the team as required;

Experience required: You should have a Law degree or previous experience in a Legal administrative or coordination role, preferably in-house; strong organisation and time-management skills; the ability to work in a team as well as independently; and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities and meet tight deadlines across a variety of projects.
