LEDS - Database Administrator

Summary: Experienced Database Administrator needed for LEDS, requiring active SC clearance and preferably NPPV3. The role involves database design, security compliance, backup management, performance monitoring, and patch management within a hybrid working environment. Candidates must be prepared for an extended vetting process due to security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Design & Optimisation: Ensure efficient schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimisation to support LEDS performance and scalability.
• Security & Compliance: Implement robust access controls, encryption, and auditing to meet security standards and Home Office compliance requirements.
• Backup & Recovery: Develop and maintain automated backup routines and disaster recovery plans to guarantee data integrity and availability.
• Performance Monitoring: Use PostgreSQL tools and monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Patch Management & Upgrades: Ensure managed AWS Postgres instances are at an appropriate patched version.

Key Skills:

• Experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with PostgreSQL.
• Active SC clearance and preferably NPPV3.
• Knowledge of database design, optimisation, and performance monitoring.
• Understanding of security compliance and backup/recovery processes.
• Familiarity with AWS Postgres instances.

Salary (Rate): £300 per day
