Summary: The Cabinet Office is seeking a Learning Management System Manager for a 3-month contract, with hybrid working options available in London, York, or Glasgow.   • Manage LMS change activity through the commercial contract, including assessing change requests.

Key Skills:

  • Active CTC / SC Clearance.
  • Experience managing Learning Management Systems.

  • Experience of working within Agile environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field (desirable).

On behalf of the Cabinet Office we are looking for a Learning Management System Manager (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract. Hybrid working based in London, York or Glasgow. The Cabinet Office supports the Prime Minister and ensures the effective running of government. The Cabinet Office is also the corporate headquarters for the government, in partnership with HM Treasury, and takes the lead in certain critical policy areas. We are looking for a Learning Management System Manager to join our LMS team, to work with colleagues in their immediate team and across Capability to oversee the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing development of our LMS platform. The LMS Manager will be part of a team responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the LMS, offering depth and resilience in our management of a business-critical system, and ensuring that the system is functioning at optimal levels at all times.

As a Learning Management System Manager your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Work within a team, manage the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing development of the LMS platform.
  • Ensure that the LMS platform is user-friendly, effective, and efficient and provides a managed virtual learning environment where content is actively managed.
  • Monitor and analyse LMS usage data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead LMS troubleshooting activity to identify, investigate and resolve issues, liaising with internal stakeholders and LMS supplier support as necessary.
  • Lead and support LMS-related projects and initiatives.
  • Support and manage any LMS change activity through the commercial contract, including assessing change requests, moving this to project delivery and communicating the impact of changes to the LMS.

Essential:

  • An active CTC / SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.)
  • Experience managing Learning Management Systems.
  • Good knowledge of Totara/Moodle or similar platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working within Agile environments.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
