Lead Software Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Node.js.
• Work extensively with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Functions.
• Use GitHub for source control, code management and collaboration.
• Implement remediation actions identified through CCoE reviews and subsequent security assessments.
• Deliver application, infrastructure and configuration changes required to address approved findings.
• Improve security controls, maintainability and operational resilience across the platform.
• Ensure all technical changes align with agreed architecture, security requirements and service standards.
• Review existing technical documentation and identify gaps in system and application knowledge.
• Create and maintain accurate technical and operational documentation.
• Document application architecture, configurations, dependencies and operational processes.
• Support the development of a sustainable support model by improving knowledge transfer and operational documentation.
• Work with relevant technical and security stakeholders to ensure remediation activities are delivered effectively.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js development.
• Good experience working with Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Cosmos DB.
• Experience developing and supporting Azure Functions.
• Strong understanding of GitHub and modern development practices.
• Experience implementing security remediation and addressing findings from security assessments.
• Understanding of cloud application architecture, infrastructure and configuration.
• Experience producing technical and operational documentation.
• Good understanding of application security, maintainability and operational resilience.
• Ability to work with architects, security teams, developers and operational/support teams.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable

• Previous experience working within a Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) environment.
• Experience with Azure security and governance standards.
• Experience supporting production applications and transitioning services into sustainable support models.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience working within regulated or security-conscious environments.
