Summary: This role is for a Lead Security Architect within an organization focused on secure digital delivery for defense and national security. Key Responsibilities:
- Leading security architecture across complex defence and security programmes
- Owning risk management activities using recognised frameworks and methodologies
- Designing proportionate security architectures aligned to system criticality
- Setting the strategic direction for security across multiple projects
- Working closely with software, infrastructure, DevSecOps and cyber teams to embed security by design
- Producing assurance evidence to meet MOD and regulatory requirements
- Developing options and mitigations to address technical and architectural vulnerabilities
- Collaborating with wider IT architects and subject matter experts to deliver joined-up solutions
- Engaging with assurance and accreditation stakeholders throughout the system lifecycle
Key Skills:
- Strong background in security architecture within defence or highly regulated environments
- Hands-on risk management experience using frameworks such as NIST 800-53
- Proven ability to design and select security controls across networks, endpoints, identity, cryptography and data
- Experience delivering secure-by-design solutions across on-prem and cloud platforms
- Solid understanding of MOD security standards (e.g. JSP 604 / 453) and assurance artefacts
- Excellent written skills for producing high-quality security and design documentation
- Eligibility for UK government security clearance (or currently holding clearance)

What You’ll Be Doing:
