Summary: The Lead QA Consultant will play a crucial role in a major transformation programme over the next 18 months, focusing on shaping the testing strategy and implementing robust QA processes. This hands-on position requires a pragmatic problem-solver to build test systems and frameworks while ensuring high-quality standards for both internal and customer-facing projects. The role involves a balance of manual and automation testing, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and automation adoption. The consultant will also provide leadership and mentoring to teams throughout the transformation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement QA strategy, processes, and best practices across the transformation programme.
- Drive adoption of automation testing and build regression test suites.
- Balance hands-on manual and automation testing (approx. 70/30 split).
- Evaluate and implement automation tools (experience with Accelq advantageous; current tooling includes Mabl but looking to move away).
- Develop, maintain, and execute test cases to support automation and ensure quality delivery.
- Support testing across a range of platforms, including web UI, CRM systems, mobile apps, and low-code platforms (OutSystems).
- Work closely with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and manage testing in environments where requirements may be less structured.
- Support change management, ensuring QA is an enabler for delivery, not a blocker.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to teams, while remaining hands-on in execution.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Lead QA / Test Consultant on large-scale transformation programmes.
- Strong background in defining QA strategies, processes, and automation frameworks.
- Hands-on test automation skills (tool-agnostic, but knowledge of Accelq a plus).
- Strong manual testing expertise and ability to create/execute regression scripts.
- Experience testing across web, CRM, and mobile applications.
- Ability to thrive in evolving environments with incomplete requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

You’ll play a pivotal role in building test systems and frameworks from the ground up, ensuring both internal and customer-facing projects meet high quality standards. The environment is undergoing significant change, so we need a pragmatic problem-solver who can work with what’s available while steadily introducing new tools, practices, and approaches.
Key Responsibilities

- Drive adoption of automation testing and build regression test suites.
