Role Overview
A Lead Product Manager is required for our public sector client to work on a specific project which sits within their engineering area.
As the Lead Product Manager you will possess previous experience of working with a variety of large scale digital products as this is essential for this role.
You will have the ability to lead other Product Managers within a team and influence them to achieve best practice.
You will be confident to take an ambiguous concept and turn it into a tangible delivery, having experience across the end-to-end process as opposed to one stage as you will need to possess knowledge and experience of the full life cycle.
Essential Skills & Experience required
- As the Lead Product Manager you will possess the following
- Previous experience of working with the public sector/government sector
- Agile
- Extensive experience of working with a variety of large-scale digital products as experience of digital products is essential for this role.
- Leadership experience - leading teams, colleagues or specific pieces of work.
- Experience in having worked on a range of different products.
- Product managing high-volume digital products in a fast-paced, agile environment, working with multidisciplinary teams from discovery through to delivery and continuous, data-led improvement of live services
- Owning and evolving a product's roadmap and priorities, ensuring a balance between new delivery and reliable, effective live service operation
- Developing and improving a product's operational maturity as well as ensuring a consistent approach to user and technical operational support
- Comfortable leading and directing stakeholder engagement, able to align on needs, priorities and delivery decisions
- Contributing to the development of product and commercial strategies, helping to secure funding and ongoing support
- Previous experience of working in or with public sector organisations, including cross-organisational departments.
Responsibilities include
- As the Lead Product Manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Own and be responsible for developing and articulating a clear vision, proposition and roadmap for your product area, aligned to the wider product strategy
- Manage the prioritisation for your product, balancing live service needs with continual improvement
- To lead Matrix teams in assessing new information about the needs of potential users of the platform, and making decisions about which to meet
- Coordinate product development with other products, disciplines and teams across the business
- Maintain knowledge of the changing digital and technology landscapes, and the opportunities they provide to improve the delivery of services to the public.
- Skilled in coaching and mentoring other product managers in your areas and support with development and implementation of the wider product strategy
