Summary: The Lead Power BI Developer role in Birmingham involves overseeing the Power Reporting Platform while contributing to a significant data warehouse migration project. The position requires extensive hands-on experience with Power BI and related tools, advising stakeholders on data ingestion and driving decision-making through insights. The candidate will also need to commute to the office two days a week and possess a strong background in BI solutions and data integration. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months with a competitive salary range.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the Power Reporting Platform and contribute to data warehouse migration.
- Advise stakeholders on data ingestion and provide insights for decision-making.
- Create data-rich dashboards and write DAX expressions using Power BI.
- Design, develop, and implement advanced BI solutions based on stakeholder requirements.
- Develop custom BI products using SQL, R, and Python.
- Ensure data integration, warehousing, modeling, and presentation concepts are effectively utilized.
- Write extensive reports using Tableau or SAP BOBJ.
- Mentor junior BI resources and oversee the end-to-end system development lifecycle.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience with Power BI tools and systems.
- Proficiency in writing DAX expressions.
- Experience in data integration, warehousing, and modeling.
- Ability to design and implement advanced BI solutions.
- Familiarity with SQL, R, and Python for custom BI development.
- Report writing skills using Tableau or SAP BOBJ.

- Experience mentoring junior BI resources.
