Summary: The Lead Power BI Developer role involves overseeing the Power Reporting Platform while contributing to a significant data warehouse migration project. The position requires extensive hands-on experience with Power BI and related tools to advise stakeholders on data ingestion and insights for decision-making. The candidate will also be responsible for designing and implementing advanced BI solutions and mentoring junior resources. This is a fixed-term position based in Birmingham, requiring in-office attendance two days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the Power Reporting Platform and contribute to data warehouse migration.
- Advise stakeholders on data ingestion and insights for decision-making.
- Design, develop, and implement advanced BI solutions based on stakeholder requirements.
- Create data-rich dashboards and write DAX expressions.
- Implement low-level security for BI solutions.
- Develop custom BI products using SQL, R, and Python.
- Integrate data, manage data warehousing, and apply data modelling concepts.
- Write extensive reports using Tableau or SAP BOBJ.
- Mentor junior BI resources.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience with Power BI tools and systems.
- Proficiency in writing DAX expressions.
- Experience in data integration, warehousing, and modelling.
- Ability to design and implement advanced BI solutions.
- Experience with SQL, R, and Python for custom BI development.
- Report writing skills using Tableau or SAP BOBJ.
- Strong user experience focus.
- Experience covering the end-to-end system development lifecycle.
