Lead PHP Developer

Summary: We are seeking a Lead PHP Developer with at least 10 years of experience to join our team in Basildon, UK. This role requires a strong background in PHP development, particularly with MVC frameworks, and a passion for solving complex problems using modern technologies. The position is fully onsite, requiring presence five days a week. Candidates should have a degree in a relevant field and a solid understanding of both backend and frontend technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain PHP applications using MVC frameworks.
• Design and implement database structures and data models.
• Collaborate with team members to solve complex technical problems.
• Utilize queuing systems and containerization technologies.
• Ensure code quality through best practices and version control.

Key Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
• Degree (PhD, MSc, or BSc) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field (minimum 2:1).
• Strong knowledge of data structures, database design, and object-oriented programming.
• Proven experience with Object-Oriented PHP and MVC frameworks (Phalcon, Laravel).
• Experience with databases such as MariaDB and MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with queuing systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Good understanding of frontend frameworks like Vue.js.
• Experience with Docker and containerisation.
