Summary: The Lead Pharmacist for Aseptic Services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals is responsible for the operational management of a busy Aseptic service, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical quality systems and leading a team of professionals. This role offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills while supporting patient care through the preparation of complex medications and participation in clinical trials. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a commitment to continuous improvement within the service. The role includes a weekend, late night, and Bank Holiday commitment on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Associate Lead Clinicians in managing operational aspects of the Aseptic Service.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and statutory controls in the delivery and management of the Aseptic service.
  • Manage the Pharmaceutical Quality System, including quality risk management and change management.
  • Plan and manage projects for continuous improvement within Aseptic Services.
  • Supervise and train staff in Aseptic Services, ensuring adherence to current procedures and competencies.
  • Participate in Core Professional Commitments (CPCs) and support workflow management.
  • Travel between sites as necessary to support the service.
  • Investigate medication errors and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Support the introduction of clinical trials into Aseptic Services.
