Summary: The Home Office is seeking a Lead Network Architect for a 6-month hybrid contract based in Greater London. The role involves leading the DRS Exit Project, which focuses on decommissioning a critical policing data centre and migrating its operations. Candidates must have SC Clearance and will work closely with various technical teams and stakeholders to ensure the project's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the DRS Exit Project on behalf of the N&I Engineering Team and collaborate with delivery partner Capgemini and other policing technical teams.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the transition programme, overseeing technical aspects and addressing challenges and dependencies.
  • Contribute to various network engineering initiatives while ensuring swift completion of tasks.

Key Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, subnetting, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Extensive experience in LAN/WAN network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in firewall technologies, including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Juniper, and Check Point.
  • Ability to establish and enforce network governance processes, standards, and policies.
  • Experience in defining and implementing network security architectures to protect data and infrastructure.
  • Experience in ensuring network compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
