Summary: The Lead Lithotripsy Radiographer will oversee the Lithotripsy service at The Royal Gwent Hospital, managing a Band 6 Radiographer and the associated equipment. This full-time permanent role requires operational leadership, collaboration with Urology Consultants, and adherence to Welsh Government targets. The position emphasizes the delivery of high-quality Lithotripsy and Urology Diagnostic services while ensuring compliance with radiological regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Lithotripsy treatments based on radiological imaging unsupervised.
  • Interpret radiological examinations, plan treatment, and assess contraindications.
  • Participate in Lithotripsy review Clinic and liaise with stone consultants.
  • Prioritize capacity for emergency and elective lithotripsy requests.
  • Manage patient documentation and treatment summaries using CWS, Radis, and ORMIS.
  • Ensure the Lithotripter is maintained according to service contracts and report faults.
  • Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor and ensure compliance with Radiological Regulations.
  • Contribute to the procurement process as required.

Key Skills:

  • Management/Leadership experience.
  • DCR/BSc Radiography.
  • Postgraduate qualification in CT or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Good working knowledge of CWS, Radis, and ORMIS.
  • Ability to interpret results and plan follow-up management.
  • Knowledge of lithotripsy, URS, PCNL, and stone formation.
  • Experience in a variety of roles and specialties (desirable).
  • Management qualification/diploma (desirable).
