Summary: The Lead Learning Designer will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering leadership learning for a major global organization in the energy sector. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills to engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts across various regions. The role is hybrid, with one day per week on-site in the South East, and is focused on creating impactful instructor-led learning experiences. The contract is for 12 months and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead discovery conversations and interviews with senior stakeholders and SMEs.
  • Design engaging instructor-led leadership workshops.
  • Identify themes and translate them into clear, measurable learning objectives.
  • Lead prep sessions and design workshops with confidence and authority.
  • Manage expectations and keep scope on track.
  • Build trusted relationships across regions and cultures.
  • Take full ownership of learning design delivery for assigned regions.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience as a Lead or Senior Learning Designer.
  • Proven expertise in instructor-led training, ideally within leadership development.
  • Confident facilitator and communicator, comfortable leading meetings and influencing others.
  • Experience working across global or multi-region environments.
  • Structured, organised approach to learning design and stakeholder management.
  • Comfortable pushing back, making decisions, and driving progress.
  • Experience with Articulate Storyline or Rise.
  • Nice to Have: Video editing experience, Adobe Creative Suite, Qualtrics or learning evaluation tools.

We’re looking for a Lead Learning Designer to support a major global organisation in the energy sector, designing and delivering leadership learning across international regions. This is a highly visible role with real influence. It's ideal for someone who enjoys owning relationships, driving clarity, and turning complexity into impactful instructor-led learning.

What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be the go-to learning design lead for assigned regions, working closely with stakeholders and SMEs to shape leadership programmes that land globally and work locally. Your focus will include:
