Summary: The Lead Java Microservices AWS Developer will be responsible for leading the design and development of enterprise-grade applications using Java and AWS serverless architecture. This role involves mentoring junior developers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and overseeing the full development lifecycle. The position is contract-based, requiring a strong background in cloud-native tools and secure coding practices. The developer will also implement CI/CD pipelines and optimize application performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of web applications using Java and AWS serverless services.
  • Integrate AWS services like Lambda, S3, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, SQS, and more.
  • Implement secure, reusable code using modern frameworks and cloud patterns.
  • Own the full development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies using AWS DevOps tools.
  • Monitor application performance and optimize backend services.
  • Guide and review code quality across the team.

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in Java development.
  • Strong knowledge of Java 11+, Spring, and AWS serverless architecture.
  • Hands-on with services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, and CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency in building microservices, containerization (Docker), and security best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing (Junit, Jest, Cucumber), and cloud-native patterns.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other RDBMS.
  • Desirable Front-end development exposure (Node, TypeScript).
  • Project leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Experience with Agile tools like Rally or Jira.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow integration.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Microservices Developer with expertise in AWS serverless architecture to join a fast-paced delivery team working on enterprise-grade applications. You’ll play a lead role in developing secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions using cutting-edge cloud-native tools. You’ll also work closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and take ownership of features from inception through to production.
