Summary: The Lead Java Microservices AWS Developer will be responsible for leading the design and development of enterprise-grade applications using Java and AWS serverless architecture. This role involves mentoring junior developers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and overseeing the full development lifecycle. The position is contract-based, requiring a strong background in cloud-native tools and secure coding practices. The developer will also implement CI/CD pipelines and optimize application performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of web applications using Java and AWS serverless services.
- Integrate AWS services like Lambda, S3, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, SQS, and more.
- Implement secure, reusable code using modern frameworks and cloud patterns.
- Own the full development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies using AWS DevOps tools.
- Monitor application performance and optimize backend services.
- Guide and review code quality across the team.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in Java development.
- Strong knowledge of Java 11+, Spring, and AWS serverless architecture.
- Hands-on with services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, and CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in building microservices, containerization (Docker), and security best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing (Junit, Jest, Cucumber), and cloud-native patterns.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other RDBMS.
- Desirable Front-end development exposure (Node, TypeScript).
- Project leadership or mentoring experience.
- Experience with Agile tools like Rally or Jira.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow integration.
