We’re looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a large-scale technology programme, working on modern applications and services within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong, recent experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Experience developing front-end applications – Thymeleaf and GOV.UK Design System desirable
- Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs , including API versioning
- Experience with OpenAPI / Swagger
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Spring Data JPA and Hibernate
- Oracle database experience desirable
- Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit 5 and mocking frameworks
- Experience with automated UI regression testing, ideally Playwright with Java
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines , including GitHub Actions and Helm
- Experience working with AWS and Kubernetes
- Understanding of observability, monitoring and structured logging , ideally using OpenSearch and Prometheus
- Strong understanding of software design principles and design patterns
Senior-Level Experience
For senior candidates, we're also looking for experience of technical leadership, mentoring and supporting other developers , alongside the ability to make sound technical decisions and contribute to the wider development approach.
