Summary: The Lead Integration Developer will oversee a team responsible for creating and optimizing integrations between applications and data stores at the RNLI. This role involves designing robust APIs, enhancing documentation, and collaborating with various teams to ensure effective data exchange. The position is temporary for up to two years and offers a hybrid working arrangement. The successful candidate will contribute to the RNLI's mission of saving lives at sea through improved data services and integration capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Integration Developers in the creation, support, and optimization of integrations.
  • Design, develop, and implement robust APIs for data exchange between software systems.
  • Enhance API specifications, documentation, and guidelines for effective usage.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and IT teams to gather integration requirements.
  • Build integrations for real-time data synchronization and process automation.
  • Define data mapping and transformation logic for seamless data flow.
  • Manage API lifecycle, versioning, and access control for security and compliance.

Key Skills:

  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an API Integration Developer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in API development using REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.
  • Familiarity with API management tools and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, and synchronization techniques.
  • Problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving integration issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
