Summary: The role of Lead Electronics Engineer involves contributing to the development of a complex, regulated electronic product within a well-funded technology company. The position requires hands-on engineering, technical documentation, and support for workstream continuity. The contract is for 3 months with the possibility of extension, and the work is primarily onsite in London. The engineer will focus on board bring-up, verification, and functional testing, among other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Board bring up, verification, and functional testing of a precision optical sensing PCBA; implement design changes and support DFM activities
  • Finalise electronics designs and produce documentation packages for transfer to contract manufacture
  • Provide technical direction across prototype build phases; prepare V&V plans and support test execution
  • Author FPGA architecture specifications, subsystem requirements documents, test system definitions, and single fault analyses
  • Maintain EDA tool templates and libraries

Key Skills:

  • Proven hands-on hardware engineering background on complex, regulated electronic products
  • FPGA development experience, ideally Xilinx/AMD, with Altium Designer for PCB work
  • Exposure to optical or optoelectronic systems
  • Comfortable producing formal engineering documentation including specifications and safety analyses
