Key Responsibilities:

Role: Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS Python Amazon Web Services DevOps SRE Kafka K-Streams Flink Kinesis Agile Java GitHub Actions ArgoCD Site Reliability Platform Cloud Engineer Developer Kubernetes EKS Front Office Trading Finance Banking Asset Manager Investment Management Lead Principal Front-Office Trade EMS OMS) required by our trading software client in London. You will join a department of roughly 40 engineers that are responsible for the build, deployment and improvement of the company's lead revenue generating trading system. You will have a mid-level DevOps Engineer in London reporting into you. You will also work closely with a senior and another mid-level DevOps Engineer in New York. You will be the DevOps/SRE Engineers for the four engineering teams in this department. They are working to completely overhaul the React Front End and further adopt Kafka and Kafka-Streams on the back end. The department is also responsible for production issues which have a value of millions of dollars for every hour that there's an outage. As such, experience resolving issues in high-value trading environments is essential.
The tech stack is ArgoCd, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, AWS, Python, Go, Kafka and Kafka Streams. Modern DevOps tooling experience is very desirable. Streaming is also expected.
You will be on the management team for the department and also have a close relationship with the Head of Cloud Infrastructure and the data engineering team. There is the potential for this to evolve into a larger, company-wide role. This is a fast-paced, rapid delivery environment, with a high standard of engineering. Modern technology and paradigms are adopted quickly. You'll have significant technical influence in the space.
The hybrid working is 2 days/week in the office, although there can be flexibility on this.
